Random Thoughts
Sunday, February 25th, 20071. 21 years is actually a pretty big chunk of time; it’s around 25% of your entire life. Imagine if you suddenly found a coupon for 25% off of something huge. You’d think to yourself, “oh, pretty good!”
2. From my understanding, in tort law, the reasonable person standard is asexual and encompasses the general consensus of both reasonable men and women. However, say you have a case where all reasonable women would find liability, while a “reasonable person” may not- let’s assume, hypothetically, that this case is one of sexual harassment. Insofar as the result of the reasonable person standard would differ from the result of the reasonable woman standard, wouldn’t the former essentially be an application of a reasonable MAN standard? Would this be fair?
